Rules, controls and help for Ludo

Make Ludo your next activity in the game library. Bring all four tokens home before the other players. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Read the objective before making your first input. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Play with two or four people on the same device. Follow the house rules shown on the board; internet matchmaking is not available.

A focus for your next round

Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal. Use the example to check your reasoning.

Your objective

Bring all four tokens home before the other players. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Check the rules when you are unsure.

Making your moves

  1. Roll six to leave the yard.
  2. Move an eligible token by the die value; home requires an exact roll.
  3. Capture opponents on non-safe squares.
  4. Six, capture and finishing a token grant another roll; a third consecutive six forfeits that roll.

How to interact with the game

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. A new-round button replaces the current round.

Put the rules into context

A token two steps from home cannot use a three. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Take a moment to compare.

An important reminder

Safe squares cannot capture; blockades are not part of this edition. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules.
